The Office Candy Bowl Diet For Weight Loss

Many of us think we have the will power to say no to the office treats co-workers bring in. Most people will walk by those cookies or cake their associates have brought in for everyone and simply say “not for me” in response to the enticing offer.

Well I can tell you that after about the tenth birthday celebration, the tenth work anniversary party and the tenth baby shower at work, the sugary treats will win in the struggle of weight loss. What is more ironic is that your co-workers are also threatening not only your health, but your employment also.

In these hard economic times, companies don’t want to pay the higher insurance premiums and will take that into consideration if you are applying for a job. So please do everyone a favor and save your money and your job.

There is always time to stand around the water cooler and talk about the sideshow of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ as Kirstie Alley takes a fall because of her weight.

Maybe we should be talking about how she got that way and is struggling to lose.

But she has the guts to still get up there and dance.

  1. In terms of eating while at work, I know that in my building, people are always in a time crunch. They tend to work longer hours and head towards the vending machine. On the weekends, some people cook food to bring in for a potluck. The homemade cooked food is brought by only a couple people…but the rule here in this office environment is, “you may not eat any of the potluck food if you didnt bring anything with you to the office for the rest of the group”. So, the result of this (and I have done it myself), is to bring something like a big bag of chips, which obviously isnt healthy, or some cookies etc – something cheap so that you can eat while at work and save some money…of course the problem here is now that you have contributed foods full of sugar and sodium etc. Now, on the flip-side of things, our vending machines have 1 column that promotes strictly healthy foods…repeat…1 column… I guess it’s a start…right?

    • It would be interesting to see which columns of food are chosen more. Take a look if you have a chance and see how much more they charge for the healthier foods.
      Thanks.

      • Hey Barry. The 1 column happens to be the LAST column, located all the way on the right side in the machine. The items were: Classic Baked Lays, Cheddar flavored Sun Chips, Animal Crackers, Nature Valley bar, and then a pack of 2 Kellogs pop tarts…

      • Oh and the price happened to me the same- all were 75 cents, which was the same really for the other items in the machine

  2. In one place where I worked, we had what was called the team biscuit tin. Turns were taken to add biscuits (preferably chocolate ones) to the tin that we could all share. Terribly Wicked 🙂
